Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are down 04 October 2021 which it appears that the outage is caused by a DNS (domain name server) fail.
Facebook reported at Twitter that “some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products” which it’s not the case as I’ve checked the Facebook DNS in the vast majority around the world cannot reach its backend fleet through the reverse proxy.

So let’s wait then for the official Facebook report to confirm if it’s a DNS outage.
